Here at Moreland GP, we are predominantly a private billing practice and appreciate full payment of fees on the day of consultation. We accept Cash, Credit card, or EFTPOS.

A Medicare rebate will apply to most consultation fees. At the time of payment, the rebate can be returned directly into your bank account via your EFTPOS card OR you may choose to have it directly deposited into your account from Medicare.

Our fees remain below those recommended by the AMA and our billing policy is displayed on our notice board in reception. Please discuss with your doctor if your medical care is causing you financial difficulties

COVID-19

Due to the Medicare changes for some MBS items commencing October, we have had to return to Mixed Billings for some.

Moreland General Practice will continue to Bulkbill:

Pensioners, Healthcare card  holders , children <16 years, Chronic Disease Management plans and reviews, follow up  reviews, including  calls directed by your doctor in  regards to  results, reminders and recalls.

For all other patients FEES MAY APPLY for both Telehealth (Telephone consults) and Face 2 Face consultations.

For all Telehealth consultations - You can pay by credit card over the phone following your appointment. Your doctor will either transfer the call to our reception staff or - they will call you later on the same day to finalize your account.  The out of pocket costs are the same as with in-person appointments.

Bulk Billing

As we are a mixed billing clinic we do have some Bulk Billing doctors available . Some procedures/plans are also eligible to be Bulk Billed. Please note there is NO Bulk Billing on Saturdays, or after 5pm Weekdays.

What is Bulk Billing?

Bulk billing means that the practice is paid directly by Medicare, on behalf of the patient. Normally, if you are bulk-billed, you sign a form and do not have to pay an out of pocket fee. The doctor recovers 85 or 100 per cent of the Schedule fee directly from Medicare as payment for his/her services — currently $37.60 for a standard GP consultation.

Our Bulk Billing Doctors

Dr. Clare Matheson Dr. Caitlin Glover Dr. Laura Johnson Dr. Lyra Rinaudo (No bulk billing after 5pm weekdays) Dr. Liz Bond (No bulk billing after 5pm weekdays)

What is a Mixed Billing Clinic?

A mixed billing practice offers consultation for a set fee (To view our fees, please refer to the fee schedule above). In a mixed billing practice, a certain amount of patients will also be bulk billed. These are generally children, the elderly or those on an approved government benefit. The gap between your Medicare rebate and the consultation charge is the out of pocket amount.

Veteran's Affairs

Direct Billing to DVA will apply for Veteran’s Affairs cardholders. There is no out of pocket fee for Veteran’s Affairs holders.

Workcover/TAC

These are services provided by our practitioners for the management of work related /traffic accident injuries and illnesses. All consultations require full payment on the day unless the Victorian Workcover authority or TAC has accepted full liability and all excess payments have been met.
